Q&A with Ned Borgman
If you weren’t an editor, what would you be doing?
Pediatric dentist. Have you ever seen a kid get their adult teeth?!?
When you need to reset creatively, what’s your go-to hobby or activity?
Stand up. Go to the kitchen. Get a snack. Doomscroll for 5-180 minutes.
What’s the most memorable feedback you’ve received from a director or client?
“First, we need someone else to re-read that VO right away.”
If your computer could talk, what do you think it would say about you as an editor?
Maybe lighten up on the keyboard.
Ned was born in New Jersey and currently lives in New Jersey. But he’s lived in other places too. Like other parts of New Jersey. And a long time in New York City (Brooklyn, obviously). And twice in Boston. Ned has wanted to edit since the fifth grade. He broke three of his toes in gym class and had to skip recess for a while, so he spent time with the class camcorder instead, editing in camera. It was all jump cuts. Two years ago Ned picked up an eCargo bike to get his kids back and forth to school, the pool, and the bakery. Biking is now most of his personality. He’s currently on the hunt for a bakfiets style eCargo bike that can fit three kids. If you have any leads on an Urban Arrow or a Riese & Müller Packster 70, please let him know!
